Tired Of Being Cold In The Wintertime? Try A Corn Bag!
Tired of sitting on the couch being cold? Don't want to purchase a heating pad for tons of money? Why not try a corn bag? It will not only keep you warm in the winter, but it can also serve as your own heating pad!
Here's what you'll need:
Two tea towels (or washrags) of any design
Enough corn to fill the fabric you picked (Corn can be purchased from a mill, or can be picked and shelled by you yourself!) Make sure corn is dried before using it! Place near heating element to dry corn out.
A Microwave
A Sewing machine (or thread and a needle)
Directions:
First start by purchasing the washrags or dish towels of your choice.
Next, sew the dish towels together, right like you are sewing a pillow, however you will be sewing them together right down the middle as well (right as you see in the picture on the green cornbag) It's like you will hvae 2 sections.
***Make sure you leave an opening on each section to put the corn in!***
After that, fill the corn bag about halfway (or a little more than half) with corn kernals.
Last, sew the little hole up with a needle and thread.
Now, all you need to do is put your cornbag in the microwave and heat it up!
I usually put my cornbag in for 2 minutes. Microwave times may vary from mirowave to microwave. Reheating may become necessary, but the cornbags usually last for at least a half hour. Now go get warm already!
